MONOCHROME- BLACK AND WHITE FASHION STATEMENT

Every season there are numerous trends that take over with excessive and imaginative creativity. However some trends aren’t for everyone as they can be too intimidating for the individual with a more laid back style. If you are one of those people who gravitates more towards a more muted colour palette, then maybe this latest trend is right up your more subtle street. Black and white outfits have been hitting the runways with a stomping sense of chic refinement and simplicity. Colour is clearly vacant yet this doesn’t deprive these garments of any style. Monochromatic outfits are fast becoming the uniform of fashions most successful people, and are filtering down into the mass markets. As seen in some of the runaway around the world in the last few fashion seasons and also by the likes of fashion forward Julius Reuben and One of the hottest boy band in this century One Direction.

ARTIST TO ARTIST- JULIUS REUBEN PAYS HOMAGE TO FRIDA KAHLO

Julius Reuben pay homage to the one and only Frida Kahlo a.k.a Frieda Kahlo y Calderon. Frieda Kahlo y Calderón) was a Mexican painter, born in Coyoacán. Perhaps best known for her self-portraits, Kahlo's work is remembered for its "pain and passion", and its intense, vibrant colors. Her work has been celebrated in Mexico as emblematic of national and indigenous tradition, and by feminists for its uncompromising depiction of the female experience and form.

BOLD BRIGHT AND MUSTARD YELLOW FOR SPRING/SUMMER 2013

Pastel Yellow or Mustard yellow is often described as the perfect gender-neutral hue. It is deceptively easy to work into your wardrobe because the varying shades can be used to create a number of desired effects. However, the most difficult part of working with yellow is getting the right shade for your skin tone. Medium to dark skin tones work very well with most colors and tones. Pastel and brighter yellow hues work exceptionally well if you fall into this category. Avoid going too bright with your yellow if you have darker skin tones, as you risk creating too strong of a contrast between the color and your skin. Bolder yellows can look great, as do mustard and gold hues, which create strong, flattering contrasts with your skin tone. As Julius Reuben demonstrate in this bold mustard futurist suit. If minimal is what you are after then mix your pale pastels with some fun bright colors to give your look an extra pop. Try adding a brightly colored tie to a pastel shirt, or a bright shirt to a pale suit.

GET ON-TREND:FLORAL FASHION FOR MEN

Yes you heard it right as it is not only the female of the species or the likes of the Fashionista Julius reuben as pictured attending Beffta Awards that are going to be representing for botanists all over the world but the men are going to get involved as well. So Gents and not so Gents it looks like you finally have an excuse to delve into your sixties and eighties wardrobe, force out your Hawaiian shirts or your Nan's floral curtain in a bid to keep up with the trends. I never thought I would say those words in a serious tone but the truth is that the powers that be, those fashion gods in the heavens have decided it is acceptable once again to wear a floral jacket, shirt, trouser or both for fashion purposes as opposed to fancy dress purposes.
